Polystyrene Adhesive PIANOSTYR EXPERT LINE
Low-pressure, single-component polyurethane adhesive PIANOSTYR in the version with a gun applicator, designed for fixing polystyrene boards in external thermal insulation systems (ETICS), as well as XPS and EPS boards in foundation insulation and ground-level parts of buildings, basements, etc. The high product efficiency of up to 12m² allows saving time and reducing costs.
Applications:
- Fixing polystyrene boards in ETICS insulation systems
- Fixing thermal insulation to the foundation
Properties:
- Working temperature (substrate and air): -5°C to +30°C
- Can temperature: +20°C
- Correction time: approx. 6 minutes
- Plugging time: approx. 2 hours
- Packaging efficiency (XPS bonding): up to 12m² surface
- Packaging efficiency (ETICS bonding): up to 8m² surface
Fixing Polystyrene Boards in ETICS Systems:
PIANOSTYR polyurethane adhesive is used for fixing polystyrene boards when insulating the external walls of buildings, polystyrene panels, wall panels, window sill installation, and filling gaps in thermal insulation. Polyurethane adhesive demonstrates excellent adhesion to concrete, ceramic, wood substrates, as well as PVC, all types of polystyrene, and plaster. After 2 hours from bonding, grinding and plugging of the boards can begin.
Substrate Preparation:
The substrate must be clean, dry, free from dust, dirt, oils, fats, paint residues, and other contaminants that could impair proper adhesion. The adhesion of existing paint coatings or plasters should be checked, and detached layers of these substrates should be removed. Before gluing the polystyrene boards, start strips should be installed.
Fixing Thermal Insulation to Foundations:
PIANOSTYR polyurethane adhesive is used in insulation systems for ground-level parts (foundations) with extruded polystyrene (XPS) and expanded polystyrene (EPS). The adhesive shows excellent adhesion to concrete, ceramic, wood, PVC substrates, as well as all types of polystyrene, plaster, and substrates with bituminous coatings, roofing felt, and asphaltic insulation materials. After 2 hours from application, an initial hardening occurs, allowing continued work on securing the ground level, while complete polyurethane joint curing occurs after 24 hours.
Substrate Preparation:
The substrate must be clean, dry, free from dust, dirt, oils, fats, paint residues, and other contaminants (especially anti-adhesion agents) that could affect proper adhesion. The adhesion of existing coatings, plasters, and bituminous layers should be checked, and any detached layers should be removed. For low temperatures, frost should be removed from the substrate, and any water stains should be dried. In the case of bituminous substrates (with unknown parameters), an adhesion test is recommended: apply polyurethane adhesive to a small section of the prepared substrate, and after at least 2 hours, perform a pull-off test to check the bond. The bituminous substrate must be properly bonded, with moisture evaporated from the entire coating thickness. To ensure stable support for the glued thermal insulation boards, they should be supported on the foundation footing and, if possible, supported during the curing process. Hydrophobized insulation boards should be sanded before bonding, e.g., with sandpaper.
